Imagine a world where there were unlimited treatment options for any disease and for preventing disease.
Isn’t that a beautiful picture?

Unfortunately, this isn’t a reality. And our pets are actually developing more diseases than ever before. 60% of pets will develop cancer at some point in their life. This percentage is disheartening, but it’s a reality.
Why is this happening?
The world is becoming more toxic, whether it’s the food and chemicals we’re using on our bodies and putting in our mouths or the chemicals and pesticides we are putting on our lawns or in gardens. You may not use pesticides and are careful with what you are using, however, the majority of the population uses toxic chemicals which our pets can come into contact with.
What’s the solution then?
Make sure you are partnering with an integrative veterinarian. Integrative and holistic medicine is essential for achieving optimal health and wellness for ourselves and for our pets.
Rather than waiting for disease to occur, you can be proactive by using biologically appropriate foods for your pets and high-quality supplements to fill in the gaps where nutrition may not be enough.

One of the main differences between conventional or Western medicine and Eastern medicine is that we actually look for the root cause of disease when it occurs versus just using a drug to treat a symptom. For example, many pets with allergies will be put either on steroids or Apoquel which reduces itchiness, the symptom, but does absolutely nothing for fixing the root cause of the allergy.
When treating a patient with allergies with Eastern medicine, we assess if the diet is appropriate, if leaky gut is present allowing inflammation to continue throughout the body, are we fixing the skin barrier, and what is the actual cause of the inflammation and itchiness.
When we take this approach, we heal the body so that you don’t have to keep going into the vet clinic spending more and more on drugs that are causing more harm than good and aren’t fixing the actual problem. It’s a frustrating and expensive cycle.
However, it doesn’t have to be that way.
